Bell Tax Parcels
With 185,600 parcels, Bell is one of the larger counties in Texas. With an estimated worth of $55.25 billion, that means each piece of land was worth, on average, $297,699.35. That is quite high for a county that is a mix of rural, military, and working families. Property values have continued to rise for the past decade, bringing the tax levy up with them. This makes the county ripe for property tax appeals . For the best result, join forces with a property tax firm like O’Connor, one of the largest such companies in the nation.
Total Number of Parcels
All real estate in Texas is bundled into units known as parcels. There were 185,600 parcels in Bell in 2024, with each of them being appraised by the Tax Appraisal District of Bell County (Bell CAD). With only 20 full-time appraisers, it is a small miracle that all of these parcels were able to be surveyed. It is common for there to be a huge shortfall in rural communities, with most parcels being appraised through computer models and averages. Still, this could be a strong indication that the CAD was rushed, which means mistakes could certainly have been made. The high success rate of informal and formal appeals tends to indicate that systemic problems exist.

Bell CAD - Total Market Value for All Property
When all added together, it is estimated that the whole of Bell County is worth around $55.23 billion. This makes Bell the highest valued county in its region, even beating McLennan with Waco at its heart. Much of this is thanks to Fort Hood and the money generated by the thousands of military personnel, but cities like Killeen and Temple have seen record growth as well.
Most of the value was generated by single family homes, which is typical for Texas. $29.30 billion in value came from residential real estate, the most yet seen in the county. This was followed by $16.64 billion for industrial and oil and gas properties. Commercial properties managed to achieve a value of $5.63 billion, while apartments landed at $3.68 billion. All categories grew from the previous record of 2023.
